Mottahedeh Design was a designer and supplier of luxury porcelain pieces based on historical models.
During the '60s Mottahedeh created four global figures meant to represent four continents. Since Mottahedeh made direct replicas from antiques, the originals were probably made when only four continents were recognized. These figures represent Europe and Asia; the missing figures were meant to symbolize Africa and the Americas.
Provenance: These figurines are from the Laverne Wylie Collection, Minneapolis, MN in their original excellent condition
MEASUREMENTS: the crowned figure is 7; the other piece is 7-1/4" high.They are both in excellent condition with no chips (see pictures).
