The Aruba R8S89A is a campus access switch that brings multi-gigabit connectivity and robust Power over Ethernet to busy networks. It features twenty-four Smart Rate ports that automatically adjust between 100 megabit, 1 gigabit, 2.5 gigabit, 5 gigabit, and 10 gigabit speeds, so each connected device receives the bandwidth it needs without manual tuning.

Every one of those ports can deliver up to 60 watts of PoE, providing a combined power budget of 2,880 watts. That capacity lets you run dense clusters of Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E access points, security cameras, or lighting controllers without separate power lines, simplifying both installation and future moves.

For uplinks and stacking, the switch includes two SFP ports that support 10, 25, or 50 gigabit speeds, plus two additional SFP ports that support 10 or 25 gigabit and add MACsec encryption for traffic that requires an extra layer of security. Up to ten Aruba CX 6300M switches can be stacked, letting you expand port counts or build redundancy while managing the stack as a single unit.

A quad-core ARM Cortex A72 processor and 8 GB of DDR4 memory keep management tasks quick and data paths responsive. You can operate the switch through Aruba Central, a traditional command-line interface, or SNMP, and you have both USB-C and RJ-45 console options for out-of-band access. Dual hot-swappable power supplies and a rack-mountable chassis make it a natural fit for wiring closets that demand high availability.
