Excellent antique condition, looks practically perfect after all these years and easily passes for solid gold. Has been extensively tested and is guaranteed to be 14k gold filled. Gorgeous embossed art nouveau swirled lines and flowers give the front of this piece depth and dimension. Small clear faceted paste gemstone is gypsy set. Locket still contains two precious black and white photos of a husband and wife each holding a child. Maker's mark is that of the S. O. Bigney Company who began manufacturing jewelry in 1896 and this piece no doubt dates to between that time or the early 1900s. Locket clasp functions perfectly.
